Victim Services of S.D.G. & A. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to individuals who have been victimized as a result of a crime or tragic circumstance. Our agency works in partnership with police as well as emergency and other community based services to ensure victims receive the help they need to assist them in the development of their personal path to recovery.

Victim Services Volunteer Crisis Responders work as part of a crisis team. Volunteer Crisis Responders provide immediate and on-site direct service to individuals with the intent to help lessen the impact of victimization. This may include but is not limited to: supportive listening, helping a person to prioritize needs, providing accompaniment to an emergency shelter or hospital, making phone calls or helping to secure premises. Volunteer Crisis Responders also ensure information about longer term services is made available to victims.
As a Victim Services Volunteer Crisis Responder, you will have an opportunity to:
Receive comprehensive training
Gain crisis intervention skills
Assist police and emergency personnel by ensuring that the person’s emotional and practical needs are being met so they can focus on their other front-line duties
Be there for someone in a time of crisis

A volunteer training program including on-line and in-class training is available to train and equip Volunteer Crisis Responders with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to support and assist victims of crime or tragic circumstances.
