Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP)

VQRP+ provides victims of violent crime in the province of Ontario who require immediate assistance that cannot be obtained through other sources.

  • Attempt to commit murder
  • Child abuse
  • Criminal harassment
  • Elder abuse
  • Hate crime
  • Historical child sexual abuse (eligible for counseling or traditional Indigenous health related services only)
  • Homicide
  • Human trafficking
  • Intimate partner violence
  • Non-consensual distribution of intimate images
  • Sexual assault
  • Serious assault
  • Voyeurism

Program objectives:

  • Provide assistance to the victims in the immediate aftermath of a violent crime
  • Lessen the impact of violent crime through immediate support services
  • Increase the immediate safety of victims.

  •   Home safety expenses (including cellular phones)
  •  Accommodation
  • Travel and transportation
  • Basic necessities
  • Meals and groceries
  • Emergency dependent and pet care
  • Eyeglasses and exams
  • Dental
  • Aids for victims/recipients with disabilities
  • Interpretation services
  • Government and medical documents
  • Crime scene clean-up
  • Counseling services, traditional indigenous health services and associated transportation
  • Serious injury supports
  • Funeral expenses
  • Homicide survivor support

  • Tattoo removal or cover up
  • Storage locker rental
